Crazy desicion to send him out on loan when Watters and Jalo are getting game time. Jalo looked like a primary school kid who had won a competition and was getting in the proper players way.
I thought Jalo looked like he’d had a decent winter in the pasture field… timbered up a bit. He pulled no trees up but he made decent runs and occupied defenders, also on one occasion held it up and laid it off ok. I wouldn’t expect Aiden Marsh to be much better, he’s not playing much for York city and as much as we would all love him to prove a player, we love a homegrown kid - he’s not really done a stack in men’s football at the age of 20 to suggest he will.
For me jalo at least puts effort in and he's hardly seen much game time this season so how you can come on and knock a 17 year old who putting effort in is poor. Marsh looked okay before he went on loan and I was shocked we loaned him out but he hasn't done much since. I though he would have been released in the summer if I'm honest but he looked okay when given the opportunity.
Marsh struggles for game time in non league. He gets off lightly because he's a local lad we hope makes it.
This ^ if he wasn't a local lad post like this wouldn't be posted if he can't get much game time for York he's doubtful to be starting here.
If you watched Marshy in under 21s and in cup games , he as done well ,and as scored goals . So you can't judge the lad on the minutes ,he as had at York city . Jalo as done OK too. There only young lads trying to get a break.
I like both lads. Marsh has also been unlucky with injuries in the recent past, too. Certainly far too early to write either off, in my opinion.
Jalo played a grand total of 8 minutes in his 1st bit of league game time of the season. I understand the sentiment towards Marsh and we all want him to succeed but let's not put down a 17 year old who's played 8 mins and did nothing wrong to prove a point like the op did.
I feel like Marsh doesn't have the pace to break through for us - for me he's objectively worse than McAtee.
Must admit, I don’t really understand the hype with Marsh. He gives his all, but I wouldn’t be putting on the bench ahead of Watters like some are suggesting. He’s 20 years old and he’s never really had a run of games at senior level. The loan move was exactly what he needed.
How old was Jacob brown when he broke through? I remember him going on loan to Chesterfield before stendel brought him into the 1st team.
Came on in consecutive away games and provided assists in both and has scored goals in both Cup competitions we've played in. His reward was a loan move so we've got to rely on a 17 year old when we're chasing a game
