Macclesfield's Martin Bullock has agreed to join Wycombe Wanderers on a free transfer.
The Silkmen tried to keep the midfielder at Moss Rose by tabling a new one-year deal, but manager Paul Ince has nowrevealed that Bullock has opted to take up the option of a longer deal at Wycombe.
"Bully has gone to Wycombe. He was offered a year (at Macclesfield) but he got a better deal at Wycombe; two years and a lot more money," said Ince.
"I'm gutted about losing Bully because he's been a different class but at his age he's got to look after his family and have that security. I would have done exactly the same.
"But it's a warning to us that if we're going to be ambitious, we're going to have to spend extra money to keep those sorts of players at the club."
