Although I like him as a player he's only an average championship player,I hope he shows us a bit of loyalty and signs. No one wanted him a year ago,he could be another Shackell. If he doesn't sign it's not the end of the world Flicker will sort it.
He's not Mike Flynn, either He's a good Championship defender. I hope he stays with us, as I believe we'll be stronger with him in our squad. Especially if we can also bring in one or two stopper central defenders to compliment his footballing style.
Re: He's not Mike Flynn, either If you'd watched him for Coventry over the previous couple of years I think you'd rate him much higher than average,he's a real quality player who reads the game brilliantly..TBH we're lucky to have a player as good as him.
Our defence was good in the second half of the season and splitting it up would worry me which is why I'm glad he's signed (or looks like doing so).
He is another Shackell. His history proves he'll jump ship if need be. I understand people do stuff for their career but can see him being a lower league Roger Johnson if he isn't careful. He'll leave if something better comes along and I'll stand by that comment as long as he's wi us. As for his ability, there is no doubt about the fact he kept some top attackers in his back pocket towards the end of the season. He didn't play at Cardiff away and you could tell. He's our best defender and if we don't want a relegation scrap, we need to be doing everything to keep these type of players tied down. He originally only signed a one year deal because he thought he would be down there, of which he was right but again, he jumped ship at Coventry.
