Having a stormer for Peterborough tonight. On loan from West Ham Strange fact of the day: He had a trial with us last season while he was at Man City and played for our U18s
I've just started the same thread. Apologies mate. That true about a trial with us? Which insane individual decided to say no to him? They want sacking, no joke. EDIT : Just had a look and this was the team. Reds: Dibble, McKnight, Templeton (Holgate 46), Rogerson (Cowgill 46), Abbott, Digby, Noble-Lazarus, McHale, Boakye-Yiadom (Samuelsen 46), Maris. Sub not used: Rusling Read more at http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/article/reserves-reds-0-charlton-3-1981347.aspx#AxPjJcK4IBuBw0Z5.99 WHAT WERE WE DOING?
The fact that he didn't play very well. Honestly can't remember him playing for the u18's but he did play for the u21's against Charlton and he wasn't good at all. I went to the game and was amazed when WHU signed him in the summer.
But everyone has bad games, a good judge of talent sees past that and what the potential could be. He can't of been a bad footballer when he played for us so I bet you could see his control and touch and creativity as you can't ever lose that but his end product may not of been there. He was on trial with Real Madrid as well, that tells you a lot.
Trials are normally short and snappy. It happens. He wasn't very good that night and if I remember correctly a lot of people could see it. For most of the game we didn't know much about him and a few people found him with the use of mobile phones and internet. Barnsley at the time had a lot of players on trial on Manchester City. There was a more defensive player and he played a few times and he was really good. Think he went to play in Turkey.
Fair enough if you went. I just wish people would look past things sometimes and see the bigger picture, he looks a very, very good player already. Can you remember the name of the Turkish guy?
Ahh right. Don't we have a Portuguese player from Benfica who came over? His dad is the head of youth there.
we have Pedro but he's been over in Portugal for most of the season because of injury and it seem sorted out over in Pedro's home land.
