Darren Gough was officially unveiled as Yorkshire's new captain at Headingley Carnegie yesterday - and it appears certain that he will be joined by Martyn Moxon as the club's high-profile director of professional cricket. The Barnsley-born pair will be the dream ticket that Yorkshire hope can restore their fortunes after a poor season last year was followed by a winter of controversies and disappointments. And Goughie reports McGrath is likely to stay!
All We Need Now Is........ Allan Donald to be comfirmed as the bowling coach. Good times ahead for us this season.
RE: what odds on.............. Whatever you wish to name….absolutely no chance, they don't have the spectator facilities there….a few benches and that's it.
Not so sure. The grounds been developed a lot ......... ....... over the last few years and they only get about a 1000 for Championship matches these days!
RE: Not so sure. The grounds been developed a lot ......... Was down there last summer - playing/training facilities look excellent, but didn't look very geared up for spectators - mind you if they hardly get any anyway. I'm down at the clubhouse this evening.
RE: Not so sure. The grounds been developed a lot ......... I think you've put one too many '0' in your answer. You might get 1000 on a Saturday of a Roses match, there are very few spectators at 4 day county matches, which is why the international matches and 1 day games are so important.
Fair enough, a 1,000 was a wild guess......... ....... but I know those games are very poorly attended, probably wouldn't even need a temporary stand then
RE: Fair enough, a 1,000 was a wild guess......... I'd be tempted to go to a county game there....if only because the club is in the CAMRA guide!
Mediation meeting with ECB today between Yorks and McGrath cancelled. McGrath to be Goughie's Vice Captain?
