More conmonly known by her nickname "spitfire girl" One of the finest RAF flyers of the war. Flew over 400 different spitfires and seafires. 1100 flying hours amassed during wartime service. Became a post war flight instructor encouraging other women to take up flying on the IOW. Took on air speed record challenges. Successful buisness woman. Amongst many of her accolades. Has died aged 101.
