Smoking ban has made things worse than before. Went to toilets in Ponty end at half time and people were congregating in the middle to smoke. Not a steward in sight. Although it was amusing to see how sheepish the smokers looked to be having a sly cig.
Guy Next To Me......... refered to it as being back at school and going for a crafty one behind the bike sheds. Surely they can accomodate them in some way.
RE: Guy Next To Me......... Yeah like I said before open a gate to let them leave the ground and as long as they show a season ticket booklet or matchday ticket, let them back in after. To be fair I can see why they think their human rights have been taken away. Oakwell isn't exactly an enclosed space.
Yeah smokers don't seem to understand that we have had to put up with them smoking for years around us. It was clear from yesterday that fans were smoking in cubicles and probably risking blocking the bogs. I'd much rather them have a gangway open so smokers could leave the ground for a smoke. That way they can still smoke and at the same time wouldn't be bothering us that don't smoke.
Being a non-smoker yesterday was excellent apart from one thing - Body Odour. At least if someone lights up a pipe or cigar or even the odd Benny, then it covers up the fact that some people don't know what soap/deodorant does!
trouble with the showing the ticket/ST is that one person takes two tickets outside and then brings an extra person back in... maybe a stamp on their hand or something, and smoking in a "pen" like area..
Great idea. It would give the stewards downstairs that stand around for a couple of hours something to do and it would make our smoking fans feel less important.
They can't! "as long as they show a season ticket booklet or matchday ticket" So how do you prevent someone taking 2 season tickets out and then giving 1 to someone else to come in? Perhaps people who are addicted should try to control it to the extent that they can manage a couple of hours without feeding the addiction!
They need to get a grip its 2 hours! Im sure when they fly away on holiday they can manage it so why should a football match be any differant.
RE: They can't! "Perhaps people who are addicted should try to control it to the extent that they can manage a couple of hours without feeding the addiction!"</p> Fully agree ES, thesame can be said about the people that complain about the lack of alcohol on sale in some areasof Oakwell. </p>
People smoking ... especially at half time. There were stewards around. Surely nobody missed the pall of smoke that was obvious over the corner between the West and The Ponty End. Is that a designated smoking area then?
RE: People smoking Aye, but no steward wants to have to deal with it and confront them and eject them for breaking the law.</p> The stewards want a nice, quiet afternoon with no bother. </p>
Half time SNUFF was the answer for a group sat infront of me! It was actually quite funny watching the first time sniffers getting it all over their face!
