My two girls were mascots yesterday, along with a couple of others. What an absolutely brilliant day. If you have kids & get the chance to get their names down, take it. Costs nothing, (though you can pay for the "executive package"),and as my eldest described it: "I think this is the best day of my life" All of the kids were treated like royalty, and nothing was too much trouble. They came away with souvenir brochures (details of all the players), and had a chance to get as many autographs and photos as they wanted. Nothing was too much trouble & the players were fantastic. Adam Hammill, Humey, Steve Foster, Darren Moore Dickinson & Boggy were brilliant with the kids. We must have spent a good 20 mins - half an hour in the changing rooms with the players. What really struck me was how relaxed they all were. Robins' team talk (we went outside), lasted about 1 minute. Fantastic day - big thanks to Laurie & the rest of the staff who make it all happen. Especially when you see other clubs asking fans to pay to be Mascot.
i remember when i was mascot a good few years ago, was an awsome day kicking the ball about before the game on the pitch and meeting the players..
My daughter was the exec mascot for the Coventry game, and it is a great day out. She said that she will never forget the day, and have to admit it was worth every penny. Like you said Fired if you have kids get their names down for the mascot day. I have also put my daughter's name down for tha last home game too.
Would definitely do it again Maybe when our youngest is a bit older. She was the only girl in a Red shirt crying yesterday when that winner went in - she couldn't understand why everyone was shouting & "making her jump". Think she was bemused by alot of it, but she loved the kick about with Toby Tyke.
