Good to see. From what I hear about him he seems to be a smashing lad. Hope he makes it for club and England.

I agree. But am I the only one who gets more and more annoyed every time I read something like this?. Good luck to John, but his emergence really should have provided a financial platform for the club that nurtured him. Instead, it looks increasingly the case that those of us who said we had been ripped off (in relative terms) were right.

    really pleased for the lad

maybe we can start to develop some of our other promising young players, instead of bringing in journeymen

Good luck to him, I hope he makes it to the very top. Incidentally I still think we had our pants pulled down over his transfer and if we haven't got a sell on clause and an England caps clause in the deal then somebody needs to be put up against a wall.

Don rowing and his cronies sold us down the river on this one for sure. Said it then and yes we have been proved right. He had everything.

Don't worry there will be a big windfall when he gets ten England caps.

Probably a few million. That would have been sensible and reasonable, given his age, maturity and obvious talent. Right, Don?

    Don?

    Don?

    Fuuuuuuuuuck.

I really hope we've got some sort of add ons in there, sell on fee, England caps etc.

I'm suspicious as to whether we got owt like £3m for him, even if we did it still looks like daylight robbery.

Our club knows all about clauses so I hope we stuck a few in whatever the deal was.

Players like Stones are surely the reason we bother to support an academy, trouble is a seven figure was enough to make our previous board need a change of underwear even though it was undoubtedly at the lowest possible end of seven figures.
