Where ever there is money there is potential corruption, and there is alot of money in football.

It's ridiculous but doesn't surprise me at all. Members of the same Qatari royal family own PSG and Malaga. What would happen if they drew each other in the Champions League. It's not right

I'm very surprised that emphasis seems to be on the upper tiers of the game - the Champions League and World Cup etc. I would expect it is easier to 'persuade' lower league players, where there is less to lose and the participants aren't already stinking rich.

Just a thought ..... Barnsley v Liverpool 1998? Biggest injustice ever witnessed, AND don't forget the Asian syndicates would have lost millions earlier in the season when we overturned Liverpool at Anfield. Food for thought?

Bigger markets on the bigger games on the Exchanges and Bookies. You might be able to win £100 on D4, £1000 on Championship and £10k on premier league games if you have the money to put down.

You will get millions bet on each Premier League/La Liga/Bundesliga/Serie A game, and a lot less on the smaller leagues on Betfair.

"The identity of that match cannot be revealed due to "ongoing judicial proceedings"

So it is absolutely fine to name and shame a man suspected of committing rape or child sex offences and that is all fine and dandy even if that man is later cleared of all charges (Dave Jones for example) but a football club accused of fraud gets anonymity because of 'ongoing judicial proceedings'. I'm pretty sure there were ongoing judicial proceedings against Dave Jones when he was named but that was seemingly alright.

As long as the big boys get protected it's ok. football is fecked.

I take ongoing Judicial Proceedings to mean that they are preparing to arrest people and don't want them leaving the country. Never to be seen again. Although broadcasting it like they did was a big enough tip-off that only the really, really stupid would stay here...

With some of the decisions made against us it is food for thought. We blame incompetent referee's but are they incompetent or something else.

No ones going to take a big enough bet on the lower league games to make cheating worth while - you need high volume markets otherwise bookies simply won't take the bet - try putting 500 quid on a dog at Kinsley, they'd smell a rat.

How do you go about fixing a match? One player things like tennis etc I can understand but there are 36 players (including subs) in a football match - I just don't understand how it can be done?

Probably more likely on spot fixing than result fixing - like in the Cricket. Although a striker could aim to miss with every shot or a keeper could have a flapping nightmare...

Chelsea vs Barca - 2009 semi final where Chelsea were hard done by 4 penalty shouts.

Dynamo Zagreb vs. Lyon. Lyon needed a bag of goals and got them thanks to a 7-1 win and Ajax being disallowed 2 goals against Real Madrid. Both of these are on YouTube.

It's easy to forget that at 2-1 down and with 2 players already having been sent off, he gave us a penalty. Why would he hand us such a life line?

Don't get me wrong though. The man's still a lovely person

A chap I know put £100 on a dog at Kinsley about 12 years ago and they stopped taking bets. It came in a 4 to 1. I knew it was a scam but not being a gambling man I only bet £2 on him.

The dog had been a good dog in the GRA but he was easily injured, only slightly but enough to slow him down. He was retired but picked up by a local piece of **** who ran him on unlicenced tracks.

    Here's how it worked.

They would run him carrying an injury in successive races and he would come in 5th or 6th. Give him a few weeks rest and the injury would clear enough for him to be very quick. A winner in fact. So they would rest him and when entered in his next race the odds would be good. The money would go on and he would win but pick up the injury. They would keep running him injured and then rest him for another sting.

Lyon 7-1 Dynamo Zagreb was the most disgraceful match in the history of Champions League, that was blatantly fixed.

Almost certain it's Chelsea 2-2 Apoel the match which is being spoken about in England, I don't believe in Chelsea players being involved however. As long as football avoids technology we're bound to drown in these discussions.
