What a upside down day today was. Personally i dont think we came out of the blocks at all today, Some below par performances today by half the side. Positives were Bobby Hassle, Antony Kay, Martin Devaney (1st Half) and Neil Austin. Dont think the rest of them could hold their hand up and say they gave their all. We have No Sub bench that is good enough to change a game. Healy is untried and the rest just aint good enough. The first thing that went wrong was when Andy Ritchie said that the players deserve their chance in this division. I agree but surely we need to add depth with experienced players tried and tested in this division to our squad. Money may play a big part in getting the players but we dont have any that have been in this division before. Luton were a average championship side today. Frankly, we should be and NEED to be beating teams like Luton at home to stay in this division. At half time tho id have taken a draw. I said to my mate who i sit with every home game about our performance straight from the whistle after half time time and time again that we start off slow. Thats the 3rd time this season that a team has scored in the 1st 10 mins of the second half. Yes we came back straight away but we need to be awake. I do blame Vito for the loss, he has cost us two points now and gave the opposition 6 but we should have had the game dead and buried. Our strikers have let us down again, Richard wasnt in the game and Hayes was like a powderpuff player today. McIndoe tries his best every game but we gave him nothing today. Devaney was fantastic 1st half but i say that the balls he put in, a good striker would be on the end of those. We dont have an out an out striker at the club, Nardiello is some sort of one but never can put a run of games together and prove he is. Today we had Kay and Hassle that were fantasic but it worries me that Hassle is our best centre half and best right back. Cover is still needed in defence. We need cover on the flanks as if one of them gets injured, who playes there, Hayes? And 2 strikers are needed. not saying to start but someone who can come on and change the game. someone pacey that can play off a target man. Hecky was poor today, Carlos Edwards run him today although he was their best player. Howard and Togwell didnt get to grips with the game today although Brian took his goal really well. This report is a bit negative but sometimes we have to be. All in all i wasnt impressed with the performance today but the result got me really really down. its ok to make a mistake like Vito did with about 20 mins to go, because then you have a chance to get backi in it, but the last kick of the game is a right kick in the teeth. Mannone 5 Some good keeping, some atrocious, the kick was awful where parkin nearly scored and the goal Austin 7 One of the positive players today Hassle 9 (MOM) Solid, best performance of season from him, we look better as a unit with him at centre Kay 8 Another consistant performance from Antony today, miles better from the paul hart days Heckingbottom 5 Couldnt cope with Carlos Edwards today and overall defending was poor, looked shakey Devaney 7 Fantastic 1st half, quiet second. Howard 6 Good goal but not really in game Togwell 6 Runs forever but again not in game McIndoe 6 Not his fault for rating, no service therefore no performance Richards 6 tried and got fouled a hell of a lot but really quiet and well looked after Hayes 6 some good link up play but needs to be stronger.
It just shows how peopel see the game differently.. I thought Richards was piss poor and fell over far too easily and allowed himself to be bossed by the centre half, again, whereas I thought Hayes played well, greated a goal and laid another on a plate for Richards. I also thought Austin picked up where he left off against MK Dons. ****

Togwell was all over the park getting tackles in and nicking the ball to break up their play. Hardly anybody notices what he does but watch what happens when he's out of the side.
