Went to the game with low expectations which is just as well To be honest it was a game of 2 halves ... until they scored ]and then afterwords First half there wasnt much between the sides we had our fair share of possesion and almost created several good chances - we should have scored from a corner when Foster had a free header but failed to direct it at the target. also Cotterill had a good shot just past the post - though had the ball to him been better and he had not had to check back he would have had a much better chance Those 2 chances apart we got into several good positions but failed to put the killer ball in Southampton not much different had a couple of efforts without troubling steele but then first real chance when a ball fell kindly in the area and well finished Steele no chance After that to be honest there was only one possible result Second half it looked like a top vs bottom clash Southamptons second goal was mostly down to woefull defending and after that it seemed both sides settled for 2-0 as the saints just coasted to a comfortable victory. The huge concern I have is our lack of creativity - the loss of Butterfield, Vas Te and Drinkwater and also Jim OBrien has left a gaping hole in the midfield which is not close to being filled by the current players For ages we had a leaky defence but got out of trouble by scoring - now unless Davies produces an individual goal we arent scoring - mostly due to lack of the final ball Lucky we got our points before Christmas
Nouble Didnt recoginse him to begin with as he actually started quite well and looked like a footballer faded to the level we remembered in the second half but he wasnt the only one
Re: Nouble Werent on long enough and after we had already lost but did Ok - Rose apparantly hit the bar but it was at the far end so I missed it but they both didnt look out of place
