Well I'll start off by saying that was absolutly awful, but in a good way. I think what we are experiencing is what a lot of Wednesday fans did last season. They wern't playing the best football but they were winning games and we seem to have descovered the habit of winning 'ugly'. To be fair im not bothered as long as we are getting results because we have tried the alternative and it didn't work, we need to be able to mix it in this league to grind out results so credit to Ritchie and the coaching staff for that. We looked shakey at the back tonight although I was really impressed with Carbon again (why cant he stay fit?!?!?). Still not much cutting edge upfront aswell but scored a beautiful goal, brilliant cross by Hayes and a quality finish from Devaney. Player Ratings Flinders (7) - Still looks uncomfortable, probably due to lack of games, 1 outstanding save in 2nd half. Hassell (7) - Not a bad game, got stuck in and moved to center 1/2 when Carbon went off. Carbon (7) - Would have been more but didn't complete game. Kay (5) - Probably my least favourite player, shocking passing at times. Austin (6) - Not a brilliant game from Wurzul but always gave his best. Devaney (7) - Decent performance capped with a great goal. Burns (6) - Seems to have dipped in form last month or so, needs to get back on track. Howard (6) - Played ok but didn't get forward much like in recent games when he scored some good goals. Shuker (10) - Man of match what a player, amazing skill. ff Hayes (7) - Tried hard but to easily dispossesed, great assist for goal though. Richards (6) - Scored a nice pen, hold up play was ok but could have used possession better. Subs: Wroe - Not bad, a bit lightweight, needs games. Tonge - Caught out a few times but did ok at RB. Williams - Nice to see him back made some good challenges. Summary: Very cold, very poor but a welcome 3 points for the playoff hunt. YOU REDDDZZZZZZ (pint)
