A football club has 6000 tickets to sell from 3 counters. Each transaction takes 3 minutes to complete, and each supporter buys 2 tickets. How many hours will it take to sell all the tickets?
There wont be 6000 available to season ticket holders. A mate that rarely goes these days has got one along with two of his workmates from someone that works at the club (ALLEGEDLY). If this is the case then it stinks.
I can do this......
Let the number of tickets be represented by 'a'. Let the number of counters be represented by 'b'. Multiply the number tickets which can be bought (2) by the number of minutes for each transaction (3) and let the result (6) be represented by 'c'.
Insert these figures into the formula..... minus b + or - the square root of 4ac all over 2a. You will get two answers, one of which will obviously be disregarded. The answer will be in minutes.
Has anybody got a calculator?

Now you mention it It's obvious. Stahlschwanz, is the answer Margaret Rutherford ?
Showing my age I used to have a good, old lust at Sandra Dickinson in those days. Pity about her voice.
