MATHS QUESTION

    I,m doing a drive for "our lass" and i need to know how to work out how much concrete i,m going to need, it,s 22 ft long and is going tobe 8,9,10 feet wide depending on the metreage (?) it needs tobe 4 inches thick.

    First thing you need to do is decide if it's in imperial or metric measurements.

    well the volume in cubic feet is</p>

    22 *8 (or 9 or 10) * 0.333 (4 inches is 1/3 of a foot)</p>

    = 59 cubic feet (or 66 or  73)</p>

    Not sure what concrete is sold in but divide by 35 to get cubic metres</p>

    disclaimer - I hope I got this right but dont take any responsibility if you order the wrong amount</p>

    cheers mate i was hopeing on about 2 metres thats why it was 8,9, or 10 feet wide

    Just done my drive and it was in similar size, and i'd say &quot;at least&quot; 2 meters and expect to get more. [​IMG]</p>

    Best place is Appleton mini mix, The Yard in monk bretton, and its the cheapest, i paid 180 for 2 meters. yet the same firm that operates at carlton ind est wanted to charge me 280 for the same 2 meters [​IMG]</p>

    if not then 1.8 cubic metres will gi thee a drive ararnd 8 foot 10 inches wide
    2 cubic metres will gi thee ararnd 9 foot 10 inches widewide

    Can tha bottle mi some a that sweat for Ebay (collectors item):pff :D :-|

    Yep, thats why i used 3.5 meters and i still didnt have enough, i mixed the rest by hand, i think i've lost half a stone.. [​IMG]
