Pretty sure I saw Matt Murray today doing some coaching with Disco and Bobby, Not sure how long he's been part of the set up or if he's in a permanent position but another good footballing bloke to add to the set up.
We could field a decent side just from our coaching staff I reckon. Jamie Clapham was a decent player from memory. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Thats who he was coaching. Didn't realise he was employed by BFC. See him quite regular on Soccer Saturday.
I shared hotel lift with him in London a couple of weeks ago, and mentioned to him that I was a Barnsley fan. He told me he was hoping to start an Academy coaching role, working with Sir Bobby, in late July, so it looks like this has materialised. I mentioned it to a couple of people privately, but didn't want to post at the time, as it didn't sound like it was finalised when we spoke. He seems to be a really nice bloke too, as well as being a man-mountain. I think he'll be a great addition to the coaching staff.
barnsley66 & I have spoke to Matt a few times in the club car park when he was reporting on the team for Sky Sports. The last occasion was the home game with Preston in February. He said he loved coming to Oakwell as it was a proper football club, run by proper football people and he was always guaranteed a friendly welcome both by the staff and the fans. In fact, he wanted to emphasise this one particular point "I really mean it and not just because Bobby Hassell is a good friend". As the January window had just closed, he said the only drawback he could see with the club was the issues with players' contracts. Once we sort out that problem, then he could see Barnsley really progressing. He suggested perhaps the quick turn round in fortunes had caught the club out a bit. When at Wolves, he pointed out the club had a policy (brought in by Jez Moxey) that if a player didn't sign a new contract by the time he got to the final year, he would be sold. Everyone connected with the club knew of the policy (managers, players, fans alike), so no one could claim they were unaware of it. He has always come across to me as a thoroughly knowledgeable, likeable and friendly bloke.
I dont get why you continuously feel the need to pull people down on here. You're a bully and its pathetic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You have yet ANOTHER dig at me then claim I'm pathetic for questioning why. You're a classic bully there's nothing more too it. I just dont understand why you do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm not having a dig at anybody, I merely voiced an opinion which you started whining about and taking personally. I couldn't give a toss if you want to go and watch our under 10's train, it's just something I don't see the appeal of. Jesus.
You clearly are having a dig. Everyone else responds to the topic which is Matt Murray. You make a presumption I went to watch them train and put it across in an attempt to belittle me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If that's how you want to take it, then go ahead. Keep on whining about it. Enjoy. I'm off to bully some pigeons, or something. No idea.
