Contract ended at Boro. Sorta fits the bil as the type we'd go for. No links but does feel very much like a Barnsley signing. Was tipped as the next big thing a few years ago at schalke but career really stalled. Only 23, definitely worth a punt if wages are affordable.
Definitely wouldn't be against it, barely played last couple of years which is an issue but could definitely kick start his career with us again.
I was going to post this earlier but people jumped on my back when I mentioned Joe Hugill.. Matthew Hoppe has a much worse goals ratio than Joe Hugill
We do seem to love an American signing at the moment. Does feel like one they'd go for. We also love a striker like this who's done nowt for a few years like cosgrove, Watters etc.
We've followed Schalke for over 10 years, going to several games a season. Schalke were, and still are, in a big financial mess so accepted an offer from Mallorca. Big things were predicted for Hoppe when he left. Didn't really happen and then went to Boro, where he's had several loans. Played less than 40 games in 4 season and only scored a handful of goals. If Barnsley were to take a gamble I can't see him featuring much this season. Could defiantly be a project for next season depending on the wages etc.
