    Longstaff would be the signing of the summer for me. Very good footballer who I was convinced would be going to a championship side.

    I can't see that if I'm honest, he's reportedly on £20k a week at Newcastle. So unless it's one of those Daryl Dike type 'loans to permanent' rather than a Mike Bahre one, I don't see it.

    Now this has been leaked I'd find it very hard to believe it will happen.

    I would be sceptical too to be honest but he does only have one year left on his deal. Could be that we pay a loan fee and then he joins initially on loan then signs permanently next season on a lower wage as he isn't likely to get offered 20k a week again anytime soon.

    Longstaff and Benson in the middle with Connell pushing as sub, Kane and Wolf back up.
    That is some choice for a league 1 midfield

    Play high press. Change midfield with Wolfe and Connell and aitchson as options. Decent at this level. Especially our midfield.

    I'm confused. Okay, the kid plays for Newcastle and has a few first team appearances there but he underwhelmed on a loan with Aberdeen last season (only 5 appearances) and then spent time in League Two with Mansfield. Why do we think Championship sides would be interested? I'll support him if he comes but he's 22 and only played 40 first team games so I'm not getting too excited.
