No need to apologise...........even tho its a repeat...........but it aint ballax........its a good read. To my mind the first time Maurice has actually made an effort to say something about the appalling situation the club finds itself in. It looks like a decision was made in the close season to build a young team around a young manager..........even when Maurice now admits that this never works. And he should know, being at Man United for all those years. A disastrous decision..........that instead of Barnsley fighting for promotion this season..........they will be lucky to escape relegation
Dear Maurice Watkins http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?229416-Lewin-Nyatanga-aged-26&p=1698847 Check the date: 17th July 2015. What I would like to know is why a complete ******* numpty on a bulletin board could see it coming, but you couldn't. Hindsight is worth **** all in this game, you are paid to spot it before it happens. Are you worth your appointment? Genuine question. And btw it was 1995, not 1992.
The thingnis Jay you weren't the only one to point out that the policy was ridiculous and doomed to failure. There were loads of us. So many of us actually that Patrick Cryne took to Facebook and produced a load of statistics to back up the clubs policy. Even when he did that it was ripped to shreds by more than a few people. This is why I am baffled that the club are only acknowledging the youth policy now and are acting as though nobody disagreed at the time
I thought mr invisible was the man who had been there and done that / worn the t-shirt etc? Surely he should have foreseen that our pre season transfer policy of recruiting young inexperienced players wouldn't work!!
I know I wasn't mate. I'm not trying to make out I'm some kind of oracle. I know for a fact I'm not. I know absolutely **** all, yet I could see the plan was ridiculous. My point is that if such a nobody as me could see it coming, what the **** were they playing at? And why are they trying to look wise for spotting it 5 months too late?
Agree Jay, this was my point in my other comment on a different thread. Watkins - in a rare public comment - fails to take any responsibility for the club's policy. He doesn't apologise, nor does he admit they got things wrong. Instead he boasts about them bringing in an expert to try and make 20 year olds mentally behave like experienced pros. Bonkers.
I know you weren't trying to say that. I was agreeing with you and trying to show just how crazy it was that they couldn't see it when a bunch of nobody's could see it was inevitable
Watkins, Mansford, Cryne and Johnson. The reason why were in the Kaka now. Club policies are a shambles. all allegedly of course
What's even more bizarre is that even after this article, what have they gone and done? Sign a teenage striker on a months youth loan!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
