The word 'Paki' is the official abreviation of Pakistani, as 'Brit' is to British. I also know an Arshad Mahmood - probably a few around I reckon!
Ash as Arshad wanted to be called came to England when he was 15 and didn't have one word of English. I trained with him on a PGCE (FE) course at Holly Bank, Huddersfield Poly as it was then. Could it be the same Ash?
