    Now on the 8th May and not the 4th despite what some Diaries may have printed.

    The change is to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day.

    I cannot see the point of this move. All the people who remember VE Day will not be at work anyway, as are a lot of us who are too young to remember it apart from our parents knowing the significance of the date.

    Before anyone accuses me of a lack of respect for those whose efforts helped to bring the Nazi terror in Europe to a halt, I respect all the efforts and sacrifices made by that generation.

    Got tickets for the snooker final without realising the change so daughter has had to ask for the Monday off uni as she's coming with me. Think its caught a lot of people unaware.
