I sent the club an email last week regarding helping to raise money for the Phil O'Donnelly charity. As I'm sure you're aware, Phil O'Donnell passed away on 29th December '07 during Motherwell's 5-3 win over Dundee United leaving 4 young kids, a wife, parents, and a lot of friends, fans, and followers. So far I have had absolutely no response from the club, not even a courtesy email declining my plea for assistance. I wonder what his fellow professionals would make of this?
thereds@barnsleyfc.co.uk Seeing as Mr Shepherd, who I have a massive amount of respect for, is no longer there. That was my only option.
I think the club should offer a Signed 'shirt' 'ball' 'picture' or similar For a raffle tickets for this could be sold at the box office during the season ticket sales. I'm sure we would advertise on here and most of our users would buy the tickets.
That was one of my idea's Or a pair of tickets raffled off. I also know plenty of people up here who'd buy tickets too, especially Motherwell and Celtic fans. We could raise thousands with one simple raffle.
RE: Bump What day last week did you e-mail 'em - Friday? Give 'em chance they probably get loads of e-mails every day
I always find that a bit of moral blackmail / gun to the head stand off always does great things when it comes to getting people involved in your charity. When people do that to me I tell them to **** off in every case. The charity may be a fine one - but what you've created is a situation where they look **** whatever they do. Either they're rubbish for not doing anything, or they look like they're embarrassed and trying to appease you. You've only given them a week - and it doesn't sound like you've actually been in touch by phone or any other means. Why not try and be reasonable before you start dragging them through the mud on here with your moral outrage?
