Would like to go somewhere they have specials on, thats not too expensive. Somewhere in town would be good too. Wouldn't mind going to either Chilli (next to Grille), or the one at Gawber - Gate of India(??).

A bit of a trek but it lives up to the hype and is a cut above the usual flock wallpaper and tacky music.

    I beg to differ.

Almost instant shites last time I went there. After leaving I literally had to dash down to the Horse Shoe bogs where "the world fell out of my bottom". No doubt I'd been gobbing someones leftovers (kissmyass) /poo (N) (N) (N)

None of you been to Gate of India then, or Chilli?

Thanks for all the suggestions so far - but like I say, I want it to be ideally within walking distance (and no, im not walking to Rotherham, Wombwell or Donny :D )

    Not in town but...

Red Chilli Lodge at the riding school in Silkstone common is really excellent. It's been open since about Christmas. They also have the Red Chilli II restaurant in Wakefild which is also very good. Much better than that Chilli place in town.

Oh and they do a cracking buffet on Sunday nights

    Start with a lager.

Poppadoms, lime pickle, more lager, a madras, daal and a nice sag aloo, lager, pilau rice and a couple of keema naan. More lager.

    Not impressed with Chilli?

It says they specialise in contemporary indian cuisine - but I want traditional - do they do traditional? It looks lovely from outside, but what is it that you dont like mate?

    Thanks for the info.
