My thoughts exactly, this is the real problem with the deal. £3million in reality is a fair price, but why sell now? Smacks of short-sightedness from the club. We'd probably get more in the summer, with the ability to drum up a bidding war and a deadline 3 months rather than 3 hours away.

Nobody is pretending he's going to be a Barnsley player forever, because it's clear he's good enough for the Premier League quite frankly. But we're in a relegation battle and need all the help we can get. John's a lad who gives his all for the club, and is one of our best performers at the moment. Refuse any offer until the summer, and his value will only go up if he keeps playing as well as he is, which I'm sure he will.

As many have said, we're not being held to ransom for once and shouldn't need to sell now.

If HE decides to, a fee has been agreed yes, but Stones can always turn them down
