He said he was going to wait to see what players we signed, well since then we've signed absolutly nobody and the one player that pretty much begged us to sign him as been ignored.
Now Mcphail looks set to sign for the team that is showing ambition and is trying to sign that same player that begged us to 'come and get him'.
He's not daft, he knows Chopra's ability and if he see's him going to Cardiff because we couldn't be arsed to approach newcastle then I guess that leaving wasn't a hard decision for him.

RE: Maybe McPhail made the decision to go based on what appears to be a lack of ambition by the club Stop moaning.
RE: Maybe McPhail made the decision to go based on what appears to be a lack of ambition by the club It's June.... Most people involved with football clubs are on there holidays, the main activity will start in July.... If nothing happened by mid July, then start to worry. Anyway, time to calm down for me, heading off to Germany shortly.
I'm not worried I'm just saying why McPhail might have left. Chopra asked us to sign him, we seemingly ignored that request and now mcphail signs for the club that did go for chopra.
RE: Maybe McPhail made the decision to go based on what appears to be a lack of ambition by the club Mcphail left because he knows he can get a bigger contract at Cardiff, plus the fact that Ridsdale is there and he's good mates with him..
RE: I'll ask you then. Its a hard question to answer but I'd say maybe making sure that we sign good quality players (without breaking the budget) rather than packing the squad with more and more journey men and no hopers that are going to make an handful of appearences and then get released 12 months down the line.
Also ambition for me would be to be putting in place new things off the pitch to ensure we stay one step ahead of the other local teams and make sure that we don't go stale. I'm not talking about a new stand or anything but smaller things that generate a bit of interest now and in the future.

it's been 2 and a half weeks maybe we've signed players but aren't announcing til july 1st like we did last year. lack of ambition? total arse in my view but i know ya hypothesising
how do you know none of them are being done? or is your point related to maybe macca thinking we had no ambition?
RE: it's been 2 and a half weeks To be honest if we had signed all the players now some fans will be moaning in 2 weeks because we havent signed extra players.
RE: Maybe McPhail made the decision to go based on what appears to be a lack of ambition by the club McPhail's gone for more cash, simple as that so has Chopra.
RE: Maybe McPhail made the decision to go based on what appears to be a lack of ambition by the club Maybe he's really a money grabbing b*st*rd who knows it's easier to get away from a team in the public eye rather than an obscure mid-table one. Remember he tried to jump ship last year but nobody was willing to take him on!
RE: Maybe McPhail made the decision to go based on what appears to be a lack of ambition by the club Agree, McPhail was only a small cog in the vast turbo charged engine of Oakwell. A decent player, i thank him for his contribution to us getting promotion, but this club will respond and bring a replacement in who will work more and be more loyal than McPhail. Chopra as signed for no-one yet.
