Detailed Duties: ROLE: (1) To form part of the senior management team of the company with particular responsibility for the financial function. (2) To keep the directors properly advised of the financial position and prospects, principally through the provision of regular reports. OBJECTIVES: To ensure: * That the financial systems are properly controlled and up to date * That assets and liabilities are properly recorded and authorised * That the books/records and reports properly reflect the operational and financial performance of the business * That cash management is tightly controlled * That performance against target is analysed and variance explained * That the information is reported on a basis and presentation easily understood by the Board FINANCIAL: * Produce regular information reports as defined * Produce ad hoc reports as needed * Review actual against budget * Review management schedules and understand movements and abnormal performance * Control of accounting systems, including: ordering; purchase invoices; payments; recording and authorisation at each state; sales invoicing; cash collection; cash book and petty cash. * To ensure projects correctly reflect actual cost * VAT returns * Short-term cash flow control * Preparation and periodic update of projections/budgets/forecasts * Capital expenditure properly forecast, authorised and recorded * Maintain integrity of accounting computer system and data * Co-ordinate, lead and maintain the accounting functions and systems * Familiar with Sage Line 100 OTHER : * Insurance cover properly maintained and renewed * Insurance claims properly submitted and controlled * Management of financial aspects of players contracts, purchases and sales * Supervise key events diary (dividends, loan repayments, tax payments, VAT, deposits, facility renewals, rent payments, insurance renewals, OFEX reporting deadlines) * Motor vehicles properly: recorded; abuse identified and reported; maintained againstmanufacturers' requirements; purchased within guidelines at appropriate times * Personal records and contracts maintained * Awareness of litigation in progress and reporting thereof * Management of accounting staff Person Details: Professional Quals: Chartered Accountant/ Certified Accountant/ Management Accountant Salary: Negotiable Closing date: Monday, 21st November.
