How bad is that statement?? Other things he has said is "You need to be scared, you need to be concerned....you have four hours to evacuate" Can't imagine how those people must be feeling, just getting their lives back on track after Katrina and now this. Katrina was a category 4 hurricane, this one is expected to be category 5. Unbelievable. We thought the floods here were bad!
Why are you disgusted Tina He is right they need to get out ASAP and he was emphasising the point A bit more positive than if he had suggested err it might errr be a err good idea to err condsider leaving
RE: Why are you disgusted Tina I suppose because of the way he phrased it. It didn't sound right. "get off your butts!" Plain and simple I suppose and to the point, but when I heard it on the news this am, it sounded like he was treating them all as plebs.
Dont forget he is an American They dont speak english properly so the phrase isnt quite the same as if Boris had said it to Londoners
RE: Dont forget he is an American Yes he's "American" says it all really doesn't it? I must be the only person in the world who has no desire to go to America and who dislikes the influence America seems to have on us all. All the crap we have to endure at school in paperwork originated over there. Have to say I am biased because I don't like them or what they stand for. Sorry,
Well, it's better than saying "No, no - everything is going to be O.K"... Only for 100mph winds and flash floods to wash them, their families and everything they had into the Ocean. Isn't it? Forewarned is forearmed.
RE: Dont forget he is an American one resident who was moving out said something like, "It's scary having to go to a different place with different people".
RE: Well, it's better than saying "No, no - everything is going to be O.K"... Your right, bang on.... I like this Ray Nagin guy the New Orleans mayor, the guy tells it just as he sees it, and there's nowt wrong with that....
