Mayweather knocks out Big Show at WrestleMania Posted by Chronicle News Service March 30, 2008 22:53PM There were chairs, brass knuckles, yet not an illegal tactic in the bunch, as Floyd Mayweather's WrestleMania XXIV appearance ended like most of his prize fights -- with a knockout victory Sunday over Paul "Big Show" Wight. Mayweather came back to the ring -- with Wight's assistance -- after an early onslaught, then used some help from his cornermen to get a metal folding chair (with which he landed a series of shots) and a pair of brass knuckles (which he snatched off a fallen cornerman's necklace). He wrapped the brass knuckles around his right hand and landed one punch, prompting a 10-count victory before before a crowd of 74,635, which produced a WWE-record live gate of $5.85 million. The match lasted 11 minutes, 44 seconds, and was highlighted by Big Show alternatively stomping on the boxer's hands, standing on his chest, and running him out of the ring when cornermen tried to hustle the boxer away.
ITS NOT REAL It's not a sport, it's a form of theatrical entertainment performed by large musclebound, skilful actors (at wrestling moves, the rest of the acting is shocking).
Big Show Now 1-7 At Wrestlemania........ and yet another celebrity gets a win at Wrestlemania, over someone there all year round. Still my favourite was when Lawrence Taylor beat Bam Bam Bigelow at Wrestlemania 11
The abuse it gets baffles me.. How is any different to some of the god-awful soaps, dramas and comedies that people watch on TV. They're not real either, you know. I'm not a huge fan of it, but its watchable - and when you see some of the injuries they get, its a damn sight more real than 80% of stuff on TV.
But really its a no brainer to predict is it? Mayweather - a real fighter used to getting really punched... Big Show - a actor used to getting faked punch but pretending he did...
I Saw This http://rajah.com/base/node/11912 I didn't understand the betting system. The last time I saw a real bookie give odds, they had to pay out at 20/1 on Chris Jericho becoming the first ever undisputed champion.
But it's SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT, which is SCRIPTED and FAKE. A creative department consisting of people like Michael Hayes, Stephanie Mcmahon and Brian Gerwitz write storylines and plan out spots in matches. Floyd Mayweather would never have agreed to appearing at Wrestlemania, if they didn't allow him to win.
