feel sorry for the lad, couldnt get into the side infront of mattis. he came on with about 15mins left and had our 1st shot in the 2nd half. he made us start to pass the ball and brought about 2 of our best chances in the last 5minutes and we really should have scored. davey needs to seriously study our midfield and work out who our best 4 as a unit in midfield will be. nardiello and hayes were hopeless and didnt contribute to our team performance, didnt attempt to tackle or get stuck into the centre halfs, didnt put a pass together to each other. for me we need to bring in constantine and other big striker to give us power upfront, constantine has the pace and ability to score but for 6'2 isnt described as a target man dont ask me why people just say he isnt that type, and i feel we will just pump long balls up to him and waste him. defence looked fine today, with atkinsons pace in the defence i thought he coped well against probally the best forward in the league. at full back hassel and eckersley looked solid and i feel will be fine against many teams in our league. one downside to the defence is reid, looked nervous on the ball, wasted many diagonal balls and isnt a leader, he is too soft doesnt get stuck in to forwards. speaking to shepp before the game at the bottom of the east stand, he said that davey has the option of the center half from fulham but didnt say if we will be taking that option. i would like us to take it because he is fast and powerful, but for now kay and atkinson at center back should be first choice.
