Thing is, even if Israel do win, SO DO WE

everyone seems to think beating Croatia at Wembley is a foregone conclusion

 

I don't think they do

but it's what's required to give us a chance.....I'll be in the States at the time of the Croatia game, so I'll probably be reliant on updates on here as to what's going on should we still have a chance that is, as I'm not going to be able to get to a bar that would be showing the game that afternoon

 

Anyway - we don't need Israel to win

a draw would do

if Russia lose to Israel and we draw were through on goal difference (as long as that counts)

 

i think it comes down to the head to head

so we would have the beating of russia on that front

Well, I was meaning a loss or draw for Russia against Israel would mean if we won we go through.....but didn't think of a draw being enough for us if Russia draw....pretty sure it's head to head record that counts if level so we would edge that.

Similarly defeat for Croatia against Macedonia then means we'd have a chance of overhauling them, but that would need a 3 goal win.
