didn't hear them meself - what other gems did he come out with (i thought you needed to score goals at any level to win to be honest, not just international!)? Fecking abysmal - im a pretty big england fan but can't even get excited about them anymore with McClaren in charge, everything that the national manager should be - he is not. He should be sacked today, awful appointment and the FA are reaping what they've sewn.
I don't blame the coach I blame the overhyped, overpaid and overpublicised players. Until this small band has competition from fellow Premier League players, the English team is going to fail. Get back to a maximum of two foreigners in each side, and give our lads a chance to develope.

Crowd yesterday I went yesterday- bloody knackered today though! Day trips to Israel are hard going - on the body and the wallet! Israel was fantastic, the people, the place - really nice. As for the game - the crowd were absolutely behind the team, even after the complete lacklustre performance, however I can't say the same for the crowd's reaction to McClaren. There was a large percentage of england fans yesterday would've taken a loss if it meant getting rid of that man. We'll have to see what the reaction is in Barcelona now - the team looked like they had no plan, I can just imagine McClaren at half time saying, keep on lads, you're wearing them down!! And they were, but that's no way to win a game. They look like they're passing it around at the back and waiting for the opposition to make a mistake!! I don't understand why they play like that when they don't play like that for their clubs. Even on an individual basis they show no passion, no creativity, no belief. At least when Israel got the ball they went forward and showed some conviction!! If the win isn't convincing then hopefully they might see that he's not the right man - but I have no faith at all that they'd do something about it!!
