Looking at the Sky Sports Video........ 1st Goal..............McCourt didn't do enough to tackle their winger..........but why he had to scramble over to the corner flag while two QPR players were stood together taking a corner, then God only knows Terrible, school boy defending by Barnsley..............obviously there is no one in the Barnsley defence that is commanding and directing the players e.g. of a Darren Moore ilk. 2nd Goal..........Cranie running along side their player and shepherding their player away from goal.............and yet Cranie managed to touch him providing their striker with the opportunity to throw himself on the ground in the penalty area Another terrible defensive error Barnsley are going nowhere until they can get their defence sorted out............it is blatantly obvious that there isn't a born leader in the heart of the Barnsley defence Flicka's next loan signing should not be a left back...........it needs to be a BIG LOUD COMMANDING CENTRE BACK.........one with experience that is coming to the end of his sell by date Flicka can then push one of the other defenders to the left back position
My problem with the second goal on Saturday was not actually anything we did but an inconsistency from the referee, Granted Cranie did touch Charlie Austin (or whoever it was that fell over) but if we go back to Tuesday night a Reading player bumped Dawson (i think) in the box who stumbled and managed to keep his feet in the box but could quite easily have fallen over, the move came to nothing but by that we were penalised by honesty and not falling over claiming a penalty, the FA keep saying they want diving taking out but if they don't give penalties for fouls where the player doesn't end up face down on the turf then why would players choose to stay on their feet when they can fall down for a penalty unless they're too honest or naive when it comes to the game?
Sorry nudger but you have broken the house rules . You know the score it was Wisemans fault. Everything is Wisemans fault
Ironic that those two were to blame because they were our best players against Reading. I think the reality is that we can't possibly hope to sign better players than those two - they're top players for us. That's not to say that they're immune from criticism though - nobody is. What I would say is that McCourt wasn't solely to blame for the first, the marking should be better and he hasn't been signed to tackle wingers anyway. Also the Cranie penalty, for me, is very soft - it was nevertheless a mistake.
A couple of points I'm not blaming either McCourt or Cranie here You can see on the video that McCourt is rather miffed at being left on his own and hung out to dry As for Cranie - if he had got a loud captain belting out instructions I'm sure he wouldn't have committed the foul (that's if it was one?) As for some folk on here calling for Flicka to go...........I just ignore such fooooking tripe
No, I think he means somebody who is any good. Rammage has been awful since coming to Barnsley and certainly hasn't made the defence any stronger. There's only one really experienced cool headed defender at Barnsley but it's a bit hard for him to control things from the under 21's or at best the bench when 800 others are injured.
