"I'd be a fool to turn the offer down. They are a bigger club, I'll have a better chance of getting into the Scotland squad." says it all to me he definately wanted 2 move once he knew wolves were interested. Think we were a stepping stone for him he did will and he is a loss, but if they wouldnt have let him go i feel he would have disrupted the team like he did at Doncaster. Hes moved on and so should we lets see how the 2 loan players do and im pretty certain money for strengthening was there before McIndoe was sold. I think some good players will be bought in january once the new manger whoever it may be is installed.
Club couldn't handle it worse than they did really. Don't know what they were thinking. Just one media blunder after another.
RE: Club couldn't handle it worse than they did really. How would you expect them to handle it? Am not disagreeing as such, was just wondering how you think it should have been done better?
Done the right thing getting shut then IMO Like you say KingP, he could very easily have disrupted the team like he did at Donny and Yeovil. Get some decent money for him hopefully, strengthen other areas too.
They have announced it the wrong way round. First announce Maccas leaving; Boo's all round. Then announce Wrights leaving; Some Boo A lot Hooray (at a guess) Finish off with a flourish, 4 to come in. Hooray! All smiles then until Saturday comes.
How the club could have handled it better 1) STOP WOLVES TALKING TO McIndoe, consequently no sale and therefore McIndoe would not be leaving and not be saying "it was an offer I couldn't refuse" 2) If they do sell our best assetts before the deadline then the club should have the foooking GUTS to announce it before 5 oclock. 3) If we are selling our best assetts then someone from the club should have the guts to come out and say why we are doing this and put all of us paying fans out of our missery We as fans have been treated shockingly by the directors !!!!
That cant be reight He wanted to stay, it's Shepherd who wanted to sell him.</p> IT'S ALL SHEPHERDS FAULT!!</p>
What happens if they HAD to allow him to speak to them? IE he had a clause in his contract that stipulated so? Or do things like that make things grey rather than black or white, and YN can't handle that?
RE: Club couldn't handle it worse than they did really. Well, let's say for argument sake, that we practically couldn't stop McIndoe from going to Wolves. The offer is on the table and we know that he's on his way. By someone's account he bid farewell to the other players at 9a.m. yesterday morning and burnt his bridge. Should've been an announcement at that point (at the latest). </p> 'The club is dissapointed to announce that Mr McIndoe has decided to leave. We have done everything to attempt to pursuade the player to stay - including offering significant financial inducements. It is only fair to the fans to break this regrettable news as early as possible, and offer a firm commitment that all will be done to replace Mr McIndoe's services with an equally gifted and promising player at the earliest opportunity. We are willing to reach out to the Premier League, if that is what this takes. Barnsley Football Club is still committed to strengthening the squad and establishing ourselves properly in the Championship. We wish Mr McIndoe all the best for the future, and thank him for the performances he has given to the club.'</p> The club then goes out and secures the services of a winger from West Ham (who by all accounts is a quality player) as well as three other good players. The club shows some integrity, and we all share the disappointment about what has happened, but at least we don't feel like the club has pulled a fast one. </p> How difficult is that? </p>
