what a rollercoaster of emotions yesterday was. 4 signings on one day made for a great deal of excitement and plenty of optimism, and I was really looking forward to Saturday. Left work at five then went for a beer, telling everyone that we had 3 in and the best was yet to be confirmed - Leon Knight who I believe will add an extra dimension to our side. The only thing I couldn't fathom was why we'd brought a left winger in. I had the discussion with my dad who said maybe it was cos McIndoe was on his way. My reasoned response to that was "why the hell would we let McIndoe go now - if he was gonna go then they would wait till January as there was no benefit to letting him go on loan" So WHY NOW?? If clubs were after Macca now (and we all suspected they may be because he has proved himself capable of stepping up a level) then you can bet your bottom dollar they'd still be interested in January, when clubs and managers find themselves under incraasing pressure to ensure they meet their targets for the season. If we'd put together a run, McIndoe would most likely have been seen as crucial to that and probably added to his value. I can see NOT ONE reason why letting him go on loan first is to our benefit. What if he wrecks his knee next week and is injured for 18 months? We'd have to pay up the rest of his contract while he recovers. What if he is called into the Scotland squad and plays a blinder on his debut? Add a million to his value (anything that would increase his value has been giftwrapped and handed to Wolves) Why at all? Well, that's up to the people running the club. But WHY NOW? That's sheer stupidity...
The only reason I can think of......... ......is that they're more likely to close the sale in January if McIndoe's been given a chance to prove his worth.
We don't know the full story yet but it seems a bit daft to let our best player go and hope we're right about his replacement. A bird in the cab is worth two in the club or summat.

RE: The only reason I can think of......... The deal is already done. He signs in January regardless. http://www.barnsleyfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/InsideOakwellDetail/0,,10309~932648,00.html The last paragraph says he signs permanently in January
and we dont know whats gone off in the background...............he didnt fit in at Donny and even Derby didnt want him did they?????????
