    BARNSLEY Football Club have today completed the signing ofexciting winger Anthony McParland after the young Scot impressed ontrial at Oakwell.</p>

    The 23-year-old started his career with Scottish Premier Leaguegiants Celtic after coming up through the ranks at Parkhead. Born inRotherglen, Scotland, Anthony joined Celtic as a nine-year-old andspent 13 years with the SPL leaders before leaving during the Januarytransfer window.</p>

    Highly thought of North of the Border, Anthony represented Scotlandat U17 and U18 level and won one cap for the U21s against Ghana inOctober 2002.</p>

    <span>Anthony has today penned a contract keeping him at Oakwell until the summer of 2007.</span></p><span>

    The move is subject to the relevant paperwork being approved by theFootball League and Football Association. The Club are also awaitinginternational clearance from the Scottish Football Association.</p></span>
