Not great loss in my eyes. We couldnt have played him and Howard in the same team anyway next season we will need some fight in the middle. Howard scores more goals, has more energy and doesnt go hiding when the game gets tough.

Mcphail never really showed consitancy lets not forgot all the games he did nothing in. What we need is a ball winner that we have lacked since Burns left. We need it now more than ever for the fight that lays ahead.

As for McPhail well thankyou for the small percentage of games you bothered to turn up for, go grab your cash and slag your team mates off somehwere else, we do not need you.

 

The guy was a class act, it showed everygame - even when he played bad he showed bits of brilliance that got us some hard earned points. Thanks Steve and Good Luck!

mcphail didn't exactly shine in the play off games either. a poor back pass is all i can really remember. very good when he can be arsed in my opinion.

McPhail is a good player. If he's the only one on the pitch and people passing to his left foot.

So your saying nardiello and Burns weren't good? We were lumbering at the foot of Div2 when McPhail signed, for what reason he signed for us at that stage i have no idea - i wouldnt have. We should be grateful to him and others who took a chance on their Careers (Not Money) im talking development here, other clubs would have taken him no problem, he came to us - he helped us back into the Championship. To him and others i say thankyou, now would you like some cheese with your whine lads?

all 3 are not Champions League standard.

And by the end of the first season we were mediocre.

And to say they took a chance on their career's to come here is B*ll*cks.

McPhail came for one simple reason, he would be getting paid the same as at Leeds but playing regularly as no other club came in for him. Not out of choice mate.

 

If he's that good why didn't he go to a prem team or european league??? I work with a leeds fan and Mcphails nick name when he was there was McFat or McFrail. He was good for us in fits and starts, he's gone now, lets get over it. Bring back Darren Sheridan.

Maybe - maybe everything you say is true, maybe it is false - one thing it is not is fact. But what is fact is that Stephen McPhail was part of the Barnsley FC team that went to cardiff and re-gained their place in the championship...anyone want to argue with that? As a team they worked together and gained promotion, not as individuals - without certain individuals however they wouldnt have been the same team, they were,... and they are back in division 1.

But all I stated in my post is fact.

He was getting paid overall at Barnsley the same as he was at Leeds. Fact.

Is it any wonder players leave, we have been hammering them since all this talk of a move came about without hearing from the players themselves,were great supporters arent we??!! Players would love to play for us lot,we have some idiot supporters i tell ya.
I met a few of the players in town after the play-off win and they were saying what a shambles the build up to the final was....booking a flooded training pitch which we could'nt train on so did no training before the final etc.The list went on and on.
And maybe to cover the fact that the club is not doing its business right the chairman states that "we made him a good offer", "and i wont break the club" so it deflects from the fact that the club pissed about with 8 of the starting 11 in cardiff's contracts till it now appears to late!Its easy for us to slag the players but the club could have sorted this long ago before there was interest in our out of contract players....and I think ul find AR stressed this to them months and months ago!Its easy to blame the players but if we look at the real reason why I believe a lot will go we only have ourselves to blame!And our great chairman will try deflect the fact that we will lose the nuecleus of our squad,if the club was run right off the field maybe players would think twice about going!

could it not be possible that the players would wait and see which league we are in and see what offers they get at the end of the season, can not make them sign contracts!

The club is on the whole being run a lot better than it has been for years.

Im making a point in general about what went on in the build up, and i guarantee u if we had been beaten the players wopuld have been up in arms from what i was told!
Maybe he is going for more money, what about it, would you not if you were offered the same job with loads more cash??? Dont be an idiot and say you would'nt!
If we dont strengthen and sign back the remainging players we are going to struggle next year and all the stories will start to filter out from the players about what a shambles its been at times! when this happens dont look to blame the players and everyone else, look a lot closer to home and the people in charge of our club!

Yeah I agree but we could offer them contracts!!!
Players will suit themselves but weve left ourselves in a terrible position in my eyes, is AR spending all his time now trying to sign up our own players???Instead of being out gettin in new players and strengthening the squad not trying to keep it together!!! this could have been done last year and contracts given based on if were in league one you get this much and if we go up you get this much.
Its madness, were losing out on players becasue of it and I think we will pay the price!
