I’m not one to make sweeping statements but until we stop buggering about with three at the back I’ve done. Both of the above players are decent in the centre of a back four, but the system doesn’t suit our players. It’s not as if having four across midfield is leading to lots of goal chances. We’re losing the midfield as well. Hourihane needs to have the bottle to stop following Clarke’s plan and give us some stability. There you go. Definitely not a sweeping statement.
We actually went 4 at the back second half and it was a lot better for 20 minutes. Humphrys actually looked decent on the left wing so we moved him to the right. Genius. Then MDG gave his weekly gift and game over.
doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results, first thing I would have done is go to back four and simplify everything make people win their battles and stop giving them an excuse of who should be doing what, most of these players don't have the football IQ needed to play this system
