I thought the influx of what appeared to be some 'quality' signings would get us a decent league position this season. After the past few performances I am having doubts. I know they were only 'freindlies' but such games should, at least, give you a 'winning feeling' against what was apart from Wigan, poor oposition. I note from the good reports from yesterday on this board there were doubts as to the tactics and playing positions of several players. The crunch will come when we see the players performing in the league matches and the evidence that Davey can instigate better tactics to gain points.
Friendlies are just that A run out for the team, I doubt any team goes out hell for leather trying to win them because then you get chance of injury. I'm not really bothered about the results of pre-season, I'm just hoping the lads give it 110% when there's 3 points at stake.
Another thing to remember about friendlies is this............. Lower division teams pull the stops out and make that extra effort to win because they are playing against supposedly better players. Hence the Wendy results at Port Vale and Oldham And also the differences in performance with us against Rotherham, where I came a way worried, and Wigan, where I came away from the match thinking we have a good team Two different performances against different quality sides Ok, pre-season has been relatively poor but the litmus test will be the first few matches of the season My own view is that we will start slow as the players get to know one another then slowly improve Playing Coventry the first match of the season, a team tipped for automatic promotion, is going to be a very difficult test
The majority of teams in our division have signed 8+ new signings including Coventry,so I would think both teams are in the same boat regarding players gelling.
For what its worth i watched a very strong Inter side get beat 3-0 by Villa at weekend Now they haven't turned into a bad team overnight, they just didn't treat it like a cup final like villa did
RE: so when companies bang on about a no because that is a comparison with a previous year. In the currrent year it is still 100%
so in essence then when someone says you can't ever, in whatever state more than 100%, you can Thats all
chuffin el I remember trying to get on the bus back from a night out in tarn for a '2p' please. Needless to say the waft of alcohol was a bit of a give away so I wasn't sucessful.
Oh 2p to 5p is a comparison ho hum.....

What would you like me to compare it with? The price of oranges? A lap dance at Spearmint Rhinos? 3 tons of horse ****? Call me old fashioned but I thought comparing the new price with the old price would give us all an idea of how much the price had increased. That increase was 150%.
