Not heard owt but I'm sure it is meant in the context of anyone who doesn't want to be part of what he is building can leave. Would be a blow to lose him but we'd be looking at £2m+ in the transfer kitty if he did go.
If we could get two million for him i'd be shocked and delighted considering..... 1) His fireworks past. 2) One season of regular 1st team football in years and that was for a side that stayed up to a goal elsewhere in the 88th minute. 3) Less than 12 months left on his contract. 4) Board openly admiting a new contract for him isn't urgent. Love to be proved wrong but if someone offered a million I reckon he'd be gone because as his contract shrinks so does his transfer value.
Re: Radio Sheffield as per 100% confidence in flicker & ben on this. This is no longer a Club where the manager doesn't give a ****, and the board will just roll over at the first offer. It'll be reyt
8.00 news this morning - that Giddings bloke - said summat like 'David Flitcroft has said he would not stand in the way of Jacob Mellis moving to a Premier League club' So that naturally means we're after getting rid and/or Mellis is haggling for a move.
Which is what I heard on the radio. Slightly different to the original post saying he can go if he wants
Mischief making by Radio Sheffield again He said it in a positive context - saying that he couldn't and wouldn't stand in anyone's way -i.e. Jon Stones to Everton.
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Sheffield based media are totally unbiased. <img src ="http://www.thatericalper.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/sarcasm_motivational_poster_by_colettebabb-d3g4g29.jpg">
Redwing didn't mishear or misconstrue. I heard it myself and that is exactly what was said. No other background info was given. It's not just Radio Sheffield, it is typical of modern journalism - Sky do it all the time. Charlatans the lot of em, not to be trusted along with car salespeople, estate agents and others of the ilk.
Let's have it straight, we didn't stay up due to one goal in the 88th minute elsewhere, because if we hadn't accumulated enough points then we would still have been relegated. Equally, if palace had not scored, relegation would not have been caused by a 2nd Huddersfield equaliser, but by us not getting enough points over a season. Finally, if Palace had not scored in the 88th minute, maybe Steele would have launched it upfield and created a goal instead of dribbling in his own area?! It's never so black and white.
