    Absolutely blazing hot day. I was on supporters bus aged 11, they wouldn't stop at any services on the way home so that we could get back to town for a few drinks.

    Absolutely magical season, especially the last few weeks. Machin completed the escape miracle away at Middlesbrough the Tuesday night before this trip with a 1-0 win at Middlesbrough, in the two games before that we drew with West Brom when they had their beach party at Oakwell, having won at Elland Road the Tuesday night before with the famous Owen Archdeacon winner.

    Magic days.

    The following week's Chronicle printed an apology to the mayor of Bognor Regis.
    Have to say; the second half of that season was fantastic!
