Whilst I think we can get something at Wigan next week I do worry that the events of Saturday afternoon may have drained the players and supporters mentally. In all the years of watching the Reds I can't recall the crowd being stunned into silence as we were on Saturday. Hopefully as players and supporters can lift ourselves pretty quickly.
It certainly was a hammer blow that took all the wind out of my sails. The last time I recall feeling like a single game could define the season was the Liverpool game which didn't relegate us but psychologically it had a massive impact. I hope the players can pick themselves up for one last fight because unlike the premier league season our destiny is still partially in our hands.
Won't be an issue...we came from behind yesterday as with a few recent games..no sign that there was a mental block at all.
What if Williams hadnt got that last minute winner against Peterborough. Or Hourihane hadn't got that last gasp equaliser vs Blunts?
Not sure I agree with this talk of players being burnt out or mentally shot. They're super-fit have 7 days to prepare for the next match. Problem yesterday seemed to be they weren't playing for each other - challenge for Hecky to sort this out before next Sunday.
