This has to be one of the most disappointing fixtures on the football calendar, and it's little wonder the Liverpool v Man United games are more eagerly anticipated.

This lacks everything you would expect from a city derby.

It's just a mismatch. One way traffic and absolutely no passion from Everton to bridge the gap in quality.

    Dull as ditch water.

The game in general is poor and I completely agree that it’s a mismatch but I have to say that I’m rather enjoying watching Martina at left back, he’s having an absolute nightmare.

Klopp is overated. He's good but his records aren't even as good as Brendan Rogers. Very disrespectful to make so many team changes. Squad rotation fair enough, but not in a derby match. When Everton saw the Liverpool starting line up, that will have been teamtalk done.

Backed the draw at 10/1 when Everton were 1-0 as well. Tidy.

Glad Klopp paid for the arrogance of taking the best player on the pitch by a country mile, Salah, off at 1-0. Other than that, dull as ditchwater, hope the Yanks v the Arabs is better.

I didn't see that coming to be honest, but at 1-0 you're always going to get a chance.

Thought Holgate had a good game defensively.

30 appearances now for Everton, I'm sure we had some appearance fees in the initial transfer.

He’s not. Did incredibly well with Dortmund. Comparing him to Rodgers is daft. He had the best striker in the world & fell apart after he was sold. Imagine Liverpool with Suarez instead of Firminho

He did, but he only seems to have 1 way of playing. Liverpool will never compete at the very top until they learn to defend

True but it’s all about budget. They can’t compete for the very best. If City, United or Chelsea want the same player Liverpool do then the player goes for more money to one of the first three. I think he gets the best out of his team.

To get top 4 last season (finishing above Man Utd & Arsenal) with a team with Lovren, Milner (at left back), Henderson, Wijnaldium & Mignolet playing the majority of the games was outstanding.

I think he’s improving the defence slowly. Doing well with Gomez & then there’s Moreno who’s improved from last season.

He has been a bit too loyal to Lovren & Mignolet but I’ll give him credit in that he tries to develop players rather than buy the finished article.

And also they’re incredible to watch, mist entertaining team in the league by a mile. Superb going forward & vulnerable at the back

It was expected at the very least that the Bayern Munich feeder club should finish at least second every season. He's responsible for how Liverpool have been shakey defensively for the past few seasons and done nothing about it. They have so much quality going forward, but in the summer he needed a couple of class defenders and went for instead another attacking player spending most of the budget on Salah who's done very well. They are more likely to win a match 3-2 as they are 1-0. Pretty good to win money on them on both teams to score bets. Until he sorts the back end of the team out, they won't be challenging for the title. They dropped three of their best players yesterday for a home TV local derby. Imagine the other year if we'd played Sheffield United on Sky Sports at home and decided we should pop Hourihane, Scowen and Fletcher on the bench for some squad rotation.

It wasn’t. Klopp re-established Dortmund. They’d done nothing since the 90’s & had massive financial issues. Schalke, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Bremen, Wolfsburg & Leverkusen had all done better than Dortmund in the years before Klopp took over.

Winning back to back titles ahead of Bayern shouldn’t be underestimated especially as Bayern can virtually have anyone they want from the German league.

I agree that they should be better defensively but in general he does better than he should with their budget & attacking wise they overachieve. The best players like Mane came from Southampton & very few expected him to be as good as he has been & then there’s Coutinho & Salah who were cast offs of Inter & Chelsea. Many mocked him for signing Salah & were sure he’d flop.

By finishing 4th ahead of 2 teams in Man Utd & Arsenal who they can’t compete with financially they overachieved
