.... this might be useful advice this month .... a) when trying to sign a player, in general terms, it's no good offering say £200,000 when other clubs have already offered more because they won't accept it; b) when a player comes for talks, it's no good offering him say £1,000 a week when other clubs have offered him at least double that amount, cos he won't accept it; and c) when the transfer window has closed, and we haven't signed anybody, don't tell the fans that you have tried really hard but the transfer fees/wage demands were too high and outside of our budget ..... cos we won't bloody accept it either!!
wheres all the money going to come from to outbid the otehrs? fancy stumping up some more cash. the same people who would ahve momaned about season ticket prices going up this year (if they had been put up) are no doubt the same who complain that we're not signing players for 2 mill a pop.
RE: then why does shepherd drop hints at quality players then..when we aint capable of gerrin any nt to be fair Dragon, he's not likely to drop hints that we'll be scrabbling around for poor players is he?
RE: then why does shepherd drop hints at quality players then..when we aint capable of gerrin any nt there is no doubt, bfc are looking for a bargain, because we simply cant afford to get into a bidding war with other clubs. so we have to take a punt on some 'possibles' as opposed to certainties, because the certainties cost to much money. and lets be honest, remember the days of hart's signings, the money he was paying for players should have given us 'certainties' but - well, we all remember what happened.
You will accept it ... as will we all .... unless you want to stump up yerself You're going to say you're not going to watch them anymore now ... you will, we all will
The simple fact is, we will be relegated if ............. ...... we don't 'push the boat out' a little bit now and sign some PROVEN Championship players, the cost of relegation will be far greater than spending a resonable amount of cash now on the likes of Shipperley, Lucketti and Unsworth, to name just 3, 15 miles down the road. I agree it's a delicate balancing act in how much to spend and on whom, but signing 'gambles' from the likes of Bury is not going to keep us in this division and I for one do not relish more trips around the League One grounds next season, not to mention the 6,000 crowds we will be getting at home
RE: A lot less will be watching them mate in League One, that's for sure! nt The only problem is there are no guarantees that by spending the money we will stay up. I personally think with 4/5 players extra of decent quality we will be ok
