Are supposed to play for the blood red shirt of Barnsley FC with even greater passion than their colleagues .
You make me sick . We may as well start playing in gutless yellow shirts , change our nickname to 'The Invertebrates' and trot out onto the field carrying the white flag of surrender . Is that your way of answering your critics , after your spineless performance against Sheffield Wednesday ? Even if you aren't as talented as the opposition , the very least you could do is ensure they have to work their b0ll0cks off in order to get three points ! But no , you can't even be bothered to do that ! Christ , even the supposedly less talented and even smaller squad of players down at Colchester are comfortable in this league .
Perhaps I can be accused of going over the top with my views tonight . But that's because I care about and love Barnsley Football Club and I'm not on my own . There are thousands of us hurting now . If Neil Austin , or any other of our so called professional footballers , whine about the number of games played over the festive period , then I have an easy solution to your problem . Quit the game , go out get a real job and start working for a living . Then you may appreciate not only how fortunate you have been to do a job you should love , but how honoured you should feel to play for our beloved Barnsley Football Club .

Pathetic on Saturday & sounded just as bad today. Tomorrow's going to be tough cos of the cocky little get of an office junior that we have who supports Wednesday. If it were down to me, if he said anything about the "game" on Saturday, I'd sack him on the spot! :D

I wish I was as passionate as you mate

After the result on Sat and the Davey appointment I thought I would just bide my time, transfer window and all that, and see what happens before diving in.

It's also difficult to comment without actually seeing the matches, but I saw Davey's 1st match and as I remember he left Brian Howard out. Sign of negative over-cautious tactics but I didn't know just how negative it was going to become.

Actually from the commentary the defenders seemed to do alright today it's not their fault the formation and tactics were *****. Nardiello up front on his own? He needs at least 2 fellow strikers to do his running for him anyway.

Anyway don't worry about me not coming mate wild horses etc etc etc

Too right. I met Rory Fallon (when he was playing for us) when I was at an exec day at Carrow Road..

...and he had just been given a contract extention. I said 'Are you excited about getting to play for Barnsley?' and he sn iggered 'S'ppose so' and elbowed one of his mates with a wink, as if to say 'as if'.

Disgraceful.

Blood sweat and tears are okay up to a point mate but you also need ability and we haven't enough in our squad.

Up to the Wednesday game I couldn't fault the lads for effort in any performance i'd seen this season.

We've known all along that this squad would not be good enough for Championship football but we haven't invested in the quality we needed to keep us up.

I will always accept defeat provided

The team has worked their socks off for the side . There will always be occasions when we've been beaten by opposition of superior ability . I can accept that too , provided we've made the oppostion work for their victory . No player is at the top of his form all the time . However , if he's given his all for Barnsley Football Club, then he will not face any criticism from me . If , say , Robbie Williams is struggling because he's unable to cope with the new role given to him by the manager , but is still giving 100% and doing the best he can for the sake of the team , then he will not face any criticism from me .
Am I really asking that much ?
