Seeing how this forum works so well is there any chance you could throw your expertise in the direction of the err...mighty... British Broadcasting Corporation. Have you (or anyone reading this ever gone onto their HYS forums? They are so bad they almost have a comedy value all of their own. I say "almost" as they are really frustrating. It affects all their HYS forums and has been the same for months with no-one seeming to be willing or able to fix the problem. The problem (none technical description) is each page on the forums displays about 10-30 posts?? You then click the button 'More comments' It appears taht the App loads pages cumulatively not sequentially so you load page two but the App refreshes one and loads page two. You load page 3 and the App refreshes page one and two and loads page 3 ad infinitum. By the time you get to page 30 your browser eventually grinds to a halt. What is worse The posts increasingly ' loop' on each enlarged page so as you scroll down you see the same bloc of posts appearing again and again. Once you have hit the more comments button a few times, you are unable to access old earlier posts as the newer ones constantly loop round and round and/ or the browser freezes trying to reload 000s of posts. The fun does not stop there! The sort feature is bizarre. Sort by 'oldest' and ' latest' are OK (notwithstanding the loop problem) but lowst rated and highest rated are simply totals of + and - votes for the posts so you can get a post with 800 likes and 69 likes appearing as lowest rated simply because it has the greatest number in the minus column. Bizarre. Surely you need to take the figure in the plus column and subtract the figure in the minus column to get the ranking value? The way it works now you often see the same post that has attracted a large response in both the highest ranked sort AND lowest ranked sort. Did we not have a Beeb insider on this forum once? Perhaps he could have a word in the ear of the IT department at the Beeb 'cos it ie embarrassing that our national Broadacster cant run simple forums that work on their own Website.
