In KFC just outside Saaarfend on the way home. Just sat eating our zingers when we noticed team bus pull up. Mattis and Jones jumped off and headed for MacDonalds which was near KFC, they must have had an order for the rest of the lads. But then a few players got off and headed over to KFC. Nyatanga, Lucas, P Reid, Simon Davey and Ryan Kidd all cam in. We gave them a round of applause as they came in for the performance. Paul Reid came over with a big grin on his face and said "food of champions". Quality. All seemed like top blokes, except Lucas who seemed to be in a bit of a mood.
I know it's a completely different level But when I used to play basketball, if we won away, our coach would always treat us to a McDonald's. I don' think it does any harm every now & then although I'm sure it wouldn't be ideal in the build up to a game.
Some people will find a negative in anything. A KFC is chicken so is hardly junk food. And a bit of fast food every now and again isnt gonna do any harm. What do you expect them to do? Stop at a restaurant for pasta.
My zinger burger was chicken, with lettuce and some mayonnaise, in a bread bun. Its hardly bad for you.
RE: I'm just pleased we've found a job for Mattis! nt bet he was out of posiiton in the queue then gave the meals to the wrong people thinking they were footballs
yeh mi dad said that before he was diagnosed with heart diesease because he wasn't overweight. nowt wrong wi the players havin a kfc, they'll burn it off in one days trainin session.
Ricky Hatton......... eats a full fryup on the morning of a fight and still never lost. So I don't think a Mcdonalds a week before our next game will do any harm. I think the players deserved it.
RE: Ricky Hatton......... eats a fry up every meal of every day, the fat barsteward. Eventually I think he will lose a fight he could win because he chooses to let himself go between fights and then has to work really hard in the month or two before fighting again. Joe Calzaghe howver, remains constantly in shape, which I believe is a big contributor to his longevity and the reason he continues to win so confortably.
Pity Roy Keane or Billy Davies don't do that Junk food everytime you win. A team full of Gerry Taggarts and Jan Molby's
RE: Ricky Hatton......... He probably will because he was 2 stone overweight on Jonathan Ross last month. I wish he would take himself more seriously because he should retire like Calzaghe both undefeated.
KFC is called KFC as I am sure they are no longer allowed to call themselves Kentucky Fried Chicken as they dont use "natural chicken" for meat.
That might be just an Urban Myth though.

Promotion team under Wilson regularly went to the chippy after any away match if they won I seem to remember. Nowt wrong with it. Yoooooooooooooo REDS.
