bloody hope not sorry but I for one would not see Chopra as a good signing, Howard etc etc. Sorry they are gone and really best forgotten, in the sense of returning that is. We had some goos stuff from them but they are past their best IMHO. I would sooner see a decent Center back maybe 2 a left back and a striker. Also I would like to see some of the Young Uns stepping up too.
Re: bloody hope not Got to agree DT, it's a big no to Chopra from me. I think Flicker could find better in the lower leagues however if he thinks he can get the best out of him and signs him then I will back him. A fully motivated Chopra would be different class in this league.
I disagree on needing a LB, goldbourne can't be forgotten and in the event tht he gets injured again, Kennedy to save the day
I hope not. I really liked Chopra when he had the loan spell with us but since then his life has turned to chaos due to his gambling. A mate of mine is an Ipswich fan and they're fed up of his off the field distractions. Flicker wants players who will sacrifice their social time for the good of the team. Chopra does not have that character.
don't believe anything you read on Vital and particularly Barnsley Mad - these are not proper news sites, they are just fan sites with content provided by fans who aren't in the know under the guise of a site that looks fairly professional. You can't deny Chopra at his best was unbelievable and you never know, returning to Oakwell could help him rekindle arguably some of his best form as a player. The issue is he has some massive financial problems which have affected him (like it would us all) and his mind has obviously not been on his football for the last few years. Maybe if his problems were behind him then he could be a good signing, if not then I'm afraid to say we should steer well clear.
Then once his chance is up he goes down the road with Mido & Young Rooney, 2 year deal with 4, 6 monthly reviews, every six month they sit down and discuss what happened in the last 6 months and if he's not been a pro he as to go, easy int it if he is distracting the squad at any point he says at home until his next review then he's gone, and in the first 6 months of his his contract it can be cancelled at any point, this would keep him on his toes and maybe make him knuckle under
He would certainly be a risk but he could be a top player for us if he sorts his life out. He's 29 so still has a good 5 years left in him. I'd go along with NIGHTMARE and say that his contract would have to be performance based and we'd need the option to cancel it if he's not making an effort to sort himself out. Etuhu had problems when we signed him, but look at him now.
Hell no. Notorious gambling problems and a terrible off the pitch reputation. Not for us - thanks very much.
