    And Coulson, now 19, is intent on bursting into the Barnsley first team in the new campaign.

    Coulson said: &ldquo;This is a very big season for me and massively important. I have had a season here mainly playing in the reserves and youth teams and I have scored goals while also making a few first team appearances.

    &ldquo;So now is the time for me to get into the first team and show what I can do and I am determined to do that.

    &ldquo;The club have told me they don&rsquo;t want to send me out on loan next season and that I will be involved more with the first team.&rdquo;

    Coulson returned to pre-season training with the Championship outfit this week and will jet off to Portugal with the rest of the Barnsley squad on July 17.

    He added: &ldquo;I can&rsquo;t wait to go out to Portugal <div id="ds-mpu"></div>with the rest of the lads for what should be an intense training camp.

    &ldquo;There have been a couple of players who have left the club and we have also added some quality such as defender Rob Kozluk from Sheffield United, striker Kayode Odejayi from Cheltenham and another forward Peruvian Miguel Mostto.

    &ldquo;We have lost striker Daniel Nardiello to QPR which is a bit of a blow as he is a good player but for me personally that represents even more of an opportunity.&rdquo;

    Coulson is still living in Scarborough but is considering a move nearer to Oakwell.

    He said: &ldquo;I am very happy at Barnsley and am thinking of maybe moving to the area because it would probably be better for my career.

    &ldquo;I believe that this season the club can finish in the top half of the table and continue to progress.

    &ldquo;It is a great setup at Oakwell and I am learning all the time and just want to continue doing that.&rdquo;</div>
