Remember him? Finally been given the flick. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jan/15/michael-johnson-released-manchester-city
Casualty of the modern game. All the more reason to keep John Stones and our young uns where they are until they're grown up a bit.
True there were problems with footballers back when I was a young un but the difference now is that we are creating millionaires in some cases before they are 18 and that has to be wrong. There is far too much money in the game and far too much of it is ending up in players pockets.
That's scary. My brother's just been watching an old episode of match of the day, (the one from when we beat Chelsea I think) and I thought to myself, I wonder what happened to Michael Johnson, so I wikipedia'd his name, that was literally half an hour ago.
At least folk will remember George Best as a player, same with Frank Worthington, Rodney Marsh, Stan Bowles etc. Johnson will just be the fool in the pub who could play a bit and fcked it all up.
