An absolute Rolls Royce of a footballer. One of the greatest players of his time, complete footballer. Effortless. There was him, Baggio and Gascoigne in that generation for me - a hare's breath between em. Maradonna and Platini before him, only Messi comes close now. Voted La Liga's best foreign player of all time, 4 titles with Barca, 1 with Real. One time nearly signed for Liverpool? Would have settled that bunch of pillocks down, definitely. Great to have him in the premier league now as manager. Their Brian weren't bad either. REEEEEEEEEE-SPECT!!

That appointment must have passed me by. Didn't realize he'd gone to manage Swansea until I looked it up a few minutes ago. Just settling down to watch MOTD - looking forward to watching the incredible start to his EPL career today. And agree with you - he was a great player. Saw him play for Juventus against Man Utd in the late 80s and he was brilliant.
